Crops on Top in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
When Crops on Top, an urban farm on Milwaukee’s north side, booked a photography session, they couldn’t have predicted how far the images would travel. What began as a single shoot quickly became the farm’s first feature in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Soon after, Midwest Living devoted a full page to those same photographs.
For restaurants, cafes, and food businesses, their story shows what professional photography can do: it creates visuals that gain attention, trust, and new customers. Proving that professional food photography is a strategic investment. When one session leads to years of media attention, the return is clear.
Crops on Top operates in a surprising place, a repurposed parking lot at 3522 N. Fratney Street. Despite being surrounded by factories and warehouses, the two brothers behind the farm grow over 60 varieties of vegetables. Their produce travels only a barely a mile to kitchens at Café Corazón, Seven Swans Crêperie, and Kuumba Juice and Coffee.
